Festival specialsThis event is organised by Himachal Association of Australia, provides the opportunity to indulge in Himachali cultural performances such as Natti, Jhmakada and other traditional dances. DHAAM is traditional Vegetarian Feast from Himalayan mountains- cooked by our own HAA team (No restaurant food).
DHAAM is a traditional vegetarian feast from the Himalayan regions, especially celebrated in Himachal Pradesh. Deeply rooted in cultural and spiritual traditions, it is commonly served during festivals, temple ceremonies, and weddings.
One of its defining aspects is that DHAAM is typically prepared without onion and garlic (satvik food), especially when served during religious occasions. The focus is on purity, simplicity, and natural flavors using ingredients like lentils, yogurt, desi ghee, and aromatic local spices.
Prepared by skilled community cooks known as botis, the meal is served on traditional leaf plates and enjoyed in a communal setting—bringing people together in a wholesome and spiritually uplifting experience.
