I’ve been here dozens of times but haven’t reviewed! And Little Turtle definitely deserved a review. We are always greeted with a warm friendly welcome. The food is awesome and even though it is vegan you would not need to be vegan to enjoy the beautiful, fresh Thai flavours. I could eat the red curry arancini all day long! Love the noodle dishes, masman potatoes, zucchini pops. You must try the desserts too. For the five years I’ve been visiting it’s been consistently fabulous. Great team, great food, great atmosphere.

Totally busy place… serves authentic Thai, everything vegan and fresh. We went for dinner, glad to be reserving ahead of time. Loved all the dishes that we tried… excellent flavour, excellent service. Certainly going to visit again. We ordered bbq tofu satay, hot vegetable ton yum soup, spring rolls

Cute little vegan Thai spot with delicious and unique food. I didn’t have much expectation for anything different as finding vegan food at Thai restaurants is fairly easy in Australia. However, they had A LOT of interesting, new (to me) and tasty food. The hor mok and puff sticks were particularly delicious. The staff were also attentive and gave us suggestions as we were looking at the menu :) very friendly people.

I took my friends to Little Turtle a Thai vegan spot just a short hop from Newtown and honestly, it’s one of the best plant-based Thai meals I’ve had in ages. From the moment we walked in, the vibe was relaxed and friendly, and the place has that cool, casual energy that makes dinner with mates feel effortless.  The food quality really stood out. Everything we tried had real depth of flavour not just “vegan versions of things,” but dishes that tasted thoughtfully balanced and satisfying on their own. The seasoning, the textures, and the way they use tofu and veggies made every bite feel fresh and intentional. Some vegan Thai places miss that boldness, but this wasn’t one of them.  Service was warm without being overly formal, which fit the laid-back vibe perfectly. It wasn’t rushed, and the staff seemed to genuinely enjoy what they were doing. The interior has a nice feel too simple and comfortable, with enough atmosphere to make the evening feel like more than just dinner. If you’re into good Thai food and want a plant-based version that actually hits, this is one worth checking out. It didn’t feel like we were compromising on flavour at all just enjoying really good Thai, done with care. highly recommended for a great plant based dine-in.

I want to be clear, I am NOT a vegan or vegetarian but wanted to try something outside my usual dinner locations. It was delicious, the food we ordered was full of flavour and really nicely cooked. It was a curry, a stir-fry, a noodle dish, some roti, coconut rice and a cauliflower dish. My meat loving wife was also pleasently surprised. I think she would still like the option of adding meat to one or two of those dishes but thats her preference. I really didn't miss meat in our meal. One negative was the wait staff, who were nice, didn't really interact with us, it would have been nice for them to ask if he had been before or if we had any like or dislikes. We didn't get any pointers or help when ordering. Otherwise they were reasonably attentive with bringing food and taking away empty plates and topping up the table water. I would definitely go back, might also more questions and try some other food options too.
