If you are vegan, you will definitely enjoy your meal at Neelgri Cafe! It is about a 5 minute walk from Macquarie Park Station, so it is easily accessible. The male server (I didn't get his name) was extremely helpful once I told him I was vegan, and helped me to choose dishes as someone who has never really tried South Indian food. 🍛 Dosa with Potato Masala For my first time trying dosa, this was super delicious! The dosa was crispy and the side dishes were very flavourful. 🍚 Traditional Idly The idly are served in the same sauce that came with my dosa. It was not spicy yet very flavourful. The idly themselves were also really nice. 🍫 Dessert Dosa with Biscoff To finish, the dosa with Biscoff was really nice! Again, the dosa was crispy, and there was enough biscoff spread to eat with every bite. For anyone looking for South Indian food I would definitely recommend Neelgri Cafe! I am hoping to be back as I was told that there would be new vegan desserts on the menu soon so I am looking forward to that!!

Neelgri tops out for authenticity. The szechuan condiment will turn you into a fire-breathing dragon, as God intended. Saturday morning but brisk business. Dosas are top notch, will be back to try others. Ginger and masala teas smooth as silk, goes down easy. Filtered coffee has alkali aromas and balanced bitterness. Food is prepped with love, fresh off the gridle if you order ala carte. Go on. Be a man. Double the chilli, impress your date for once.

The dosa and idly were absolutely amazing, and the sambar was rich, flavorful, and so delicious! The owner was incredibly polite and friendly—he took our feedback positively and responded in such a warm way. He is genuinely open to reviews and keen on improving wherever possible. Overall, it’s a great place for a sudden breakfast plan or a casual morning outing. Perfect to just pop in, enjoy some delicious food, and leave with a smile. ------------------------------ Visited again on Monday, 7 April 😊 This time we tried the dosa—my husband had dosa and vada. My Benne dosa was good 👍 but overall the taste felt slightly different compared to our previous visit. The dosa batter seemed a little on the sour side, and the vada was just okay. The owner is very polite and friendly, which we truly appreciate 🙏 Just hoping the taste and consistency will be maintained like before. Looking forward to visiting again!

One of the best South Indian cafes I’ve visited in a long time. The Benne Dosa here is simply excellent. Perfectly crisp on the outside, soft inside, and loaded with just the right amount of butter that melts into every bite. You can really taste the authenticity and care in how it’s made. The staff is extremely polite, attentive, and makes the entire dining experience even more enjoyable.

This is definitely one of the best South Indian restaurants in Sydney. I’ve been searching for a place like this for quite a while, so I’m really glad we came across it. We’ve tried the masala puri, bonda, dosa, upma, and filter coffee. The masala puri and dosas are absolutely amazing. The upma was good too, though I’d personally suggest skipping the corn to keep it more authentic in flavour. There’s plenty of street parking available, and the staff are very kind and welcoming. They genuinely value feedback, which is lovely to see. I’ve already been here twice and will definitely be visiting more often. Highly recommend this place to anyone wanting to try South Indian food or craving authentic South Indian flavours.
