Have been there thrice since they opened last year, mostly weekend brunch! The dosa is perfect, I am guilty of ordering the rava paneer dosa almost everytime, can’t have enough of it. We also ordered mini fried idli with some podi on the side, perfect texture! Probably the best i have had. Hope the standard and food stays like this. 😄 Also shout out to the waiting staff we have had every time, lovely people!

Sri Ananda Bhavan CBD is such a hidden gem for authentic Indian food! Absolutely loved the fresh flavours and wide variety of dishes. The dosas were crispy, the chaat was packed with flavour, and the sweets were delicious too. Great place for a quick meal or casual catch-up in the city. The staff were friendly and service was fast even during busy hours. Definitely one of my go-to spots in Melbourne CBD for comforting Indian food. Highly recommend!

I’m delighted to share my awesome experience at Sri Ananda Bhavan, during my my trip to Melbourne, about two weeks ago. It’s the right place for anyone who appreciate South Indian food. All the food items are prepared with best ingredients because the food was so deeply aromatic and nicely packed with flavour. Here one can have delightful Indian Vegetarian cuisine. We tried their Rava Dosa, Uthapam and South Indian thali alongwith filter coffee. All the dishes were bursting with flavours. Besides their food quality their presentation was also appreciable. The service rendered by their team with a sweet smile on their face was very friendly and making us feel welcome. In my view, it’s the best Indian Restaurant in Melbourne and I have no hesitation to refer and revisit again in future as and when I will visit Melbourne again, Keep it up!👍👍

The food is beautifully balanced, deeply aromatic, and packed with flavour—the kind that keeps you coming back for more. Every time I’m in Melbourne, Ananda Bhavan is a non-negotiable stop. It is, without doubt, one of the best and most authentic South Indian restaurants in Melbourne. A special mention to Jazz, Sri, Tejasvi and their entire team for their warm hospitality and genuine passion for food. Their attention to detail and welcoming service elevate the entire dining experience ❤️ I’ve already visited twice and will absolutely be returning again very soon. My personal standout? The South Indian Weekend Thali 😍 — a generous, thoughtfully curated spread that showcases the soul of South Indian cooking at its finest ❤️ If you love South Indian food, this is a place you simply must try.
