Impressive food, satisfying, authentic and generous. We had the Gujarati Thali. You can choose between poori or roti and daal chawal or Khichadi with kadhi. Curries included undhiyo, Bhindi, tamatar sev and channa, All items were tasty and not too heavy. The plate included mango aamras for a sweet finish. Service was friendly and smiley. We will definitely be back to try more food

A wonderful experience! We had dinner at Vatan on a Saturday evening with family and it was an enjoyable experience. We had 2 different types of thalis (Gujarati and Kathiawadi) with 3 different combinations of daal / kadhi / rice / khichadi; and 1 daal baati choorma. The service was quick, the presentation excellent, the taste authentic and delicious and the quantity more than adequate. In fact, it is difficult to finish everything. In particular, undhiyoo dish and sev tomato dish were superb, as were the rotis (phulkas). We were looked after by Arnika who even reheated a portion of kadhi for us and served us hot water on our request. While the whole experience was enjoyable, some aspects which could have made the experience better. 1. The open to sky construction means it can be quite cold during winter evenings. They have provided heaters but that warms up from one side only. 2. The khichadi and kadhi got cold by the time I could finish the rotis, so I couldn’t really enjoy the khichadi. 3. The chana curry was extremely oily - that was the only one none of us liked or could finish. Perhaps we should visit next time for lunch!

This is not just a 5 star but a 6-7 star experience! Right from my first phone call (attended to by partner Neerav Patel, the person behind the counter in the photo)they were helpful, informative and elaborate. We were there on Saturday (4/4/26)and were greeted by Swaroop who explained a few dishes and the contents, took our order and served us promptly. We had Gujarati Thali and Dal Bati Churma which were the right texture, taste, quality and quantity. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience there and interaction with the owner and staff. They are in catering business for 8+ years and recently started this restaurant which is the best in Sydney so far in our opinion. The location is great with plenty of parking and excellent comfort room facilities in a very flash and specious building. I have no qualms in recommending this to anyone who is looking for an authentic experience in specialised Indian cuisine. Our total was $68 for Gujarati Thali and Dal Bati Churma plus 350+ grams of mithai (in which they have sugar free options) We wish them all the best and will not hesitate to patronise them as soon as possible.

Tonight both my wife and I were exhausted and thought we’d quickly dine out. What started as a plan for dosa ended up at Vatan in Bella Vista, thanks to a friend’s recommendation while we were already driving. I’ll be honest — I usually find Gujarati food a bit on the sweeter side, but we didn’t want to drive too far, so we gave this place a go. Vatan has replaced Tikka Take in Bella Vista, and I’m glad we stopped in. We ordered a Gujarati thali and a Kathiawadi thali. Our daughter had pav bhaji and our son had paneer paratha. The thalis absolutely surprised me — every single item was delicious and felt properly made. Everyone must try their Sev Bhaji — it’s outstanding. The pav bhaji was really good too, and the paratha was solid. The main reason I’m writing this review is that after a long time, I genuinely felt that “India wala taste” at a restaurant. Also, good thalis are hard to find for dinner at most Indian places, so this was a big win. Nice ambience, great food, and overall a very satisfying experience. I’ll be sharing a couple of photos as well.

This place is good to have Gujarati thali food. Finally owner has shown his food variety in this place. Will definitely like to try the new menu item. Place is very well taken care of with cleaning and service. We were served by fantastic lady Dhruti who served us with alway smile. She explained and always come to our table and asked for the food service. This lady is outstanding with amount of energy she has. Will visit this place again to try the new menu.
